Hey, hey, hey.

A quick list of tropes I like: intrigue, amnesia, trapped in an elevator/snowed-in-cabin/etc. no matter how contrived, fake dating/fake marriage with Oh No Feelings, rivalmances, sex pollen, seemingly unrequited pining, sex disasters, and lavish descriptions of Feelings and Landscapes. Maybe the landscapes are the feelings.

There are two tropes I have a truly irrational dislike for: found families and fairy tales/fractured fairy tales/fairy tale retellings/fairy tales AUs, etc. My big list of “no……” for this challenge are character death, suicide, and torture. For whatever reason, I’m perfectly fine with “X character in medieval Y AU is about to be executed unfairly or perhaps fairly for Z crime and languishes in jail cell sexily,” proving that I imprinted really hard on the Joan of Arc episode of Wishbone. So, thanks, public television.

Generally speaking, I really enjoy slice of life stuff, humor, and lighthearted stories that avoid despair and the foreclosure of hope. I love angst, but also the self-deprecating humor you find when you're thrashing around in the pit of inexplicable sadness. I love people finding peace, delight, or a laugh in their current situation even when it's objectively sucking, characters behaving thoughtlessly and in a somewhat self-absorbed manner and ending up in awkward positions, and weird bits of canon or the codex showing up for reasons difficult to pinpoint.

Requests:
響け! ユーフォニアム | Hibike! Euphonium (Anime) - Nakagawa Natsuki/Oumae Kumiko, Tanaka Asuka/Nakaseko Kaori, Tanaka Asuka/Ogasawara Haruka, Kousaka Reina/Oumae Kumiko
If you're not familiar with the canon: Free on Crunchyroll, 13 episodes. The character designs can be a bit off-putting if you're not familiar with KyoAni's in-house style. On the other hand: WOW those are some nicely animated trees.

... like everyone else in this fandom, I went from 3 to incoherent screaming somewhere around episode 8. But I'm ALSO a sucker for Serious Marching Band shenanigans. The good news here is that I've never done band myself, so you can throw accuracy back where it came from.

Kumiko/Reina obviously gets the lion's share of subtext in the series, and I'd love to see something playing off of their intense face clasping and accidental UST, while also paying homage to their band backgrounds. Uhh. They get locked in a storage closet, Kumiko is her usual spacey, off-putting self and is fine with waiting for rescue, Reina is having none of this mysteriously locked door and tries to trumpet a rescue in... when they're found two hours later, they're staring into each other's eyes and swearing fealty. I'd actually be interested in seeing a nascent D/s dynamic developing between them, with the kitten heels dialogue in episode 8.

With Natsuki/Kumiko, I love how Kumiko slowly grows more attached to Natsuki as time goes by, and how Kumiko seems to spend a lot of time staring at Natsuki and accidentally running into her at various places and having outsized quantities of nervousness and apprehension, while Natsuki usually plays it much cooler and relaxed. I also like how Kumiko being around spurs Natsuki into participating more with the bass group and hanging out with the team.

The Asuka pairings I included because I swear to god all the third years want to date Asuka, but Asuka only has one love: band. She is going to marry that euphonium.

Persona Series - Kirijo Mitsuru/Takeba Yukari, Kirijo Mitsuru/Shirogane Naoto, Aigis/Elizabeth, Aigis/Arisato Minako
If you're not familiar with the canon: Happily these are really popular games and all the cut scenes are on Youtube! The main games, Persona 3 and Persona 4, are for the PS2. Persona 3 is also available as Persona 3 Portable on the PSN/PSP.

I love Mitsuru and Yukari's slow burn dynamic in canon and how their relationship is important for both of their character arcs. They have a great, UST-y friendship--but I also love their emotional openness and honesty with each other. That shit was hard won.

It cracks me up that the creators changed so little for Aigis/Minako's social link and cut scenes--which makes sense, given that Aigis is a robot and has zero reason to treat the protagonist differently based on their gender, but is also pretty refreshing to see. Given Minako seems to be more outgoing and peppier and also a bit more, uh, sensitive with people's feelings than Minato, I've love to see them... Talking About Feelings. ... Going on Human Flesh Dates. Doing Flesh Things. This is beginning to sound like I'm asking for a Hannibal AU, but I'm really not.

On a similar note, Aigis/Elizabeth would also be fantastic. They're both singleminded and distinctly inhuman--but where Elizabeth operates in an absurdist universe of her own, Aigis' world is really protagonist-focused. If it's during the game's timeline, it'd be great to see Elizabeth opening Aigis' world to new experiences/non-protagonist ways of existing/being... Elizabeth. Alternatively, post-game Aigis/Elizabeth when they're not quite as mission-focused and instead just enjoying their uh, oddities.

Naoto and Mitsuru are both endearingly out of touch with normalcy and common sense--so naturally... they'd get along, right. Naoto has a butler. Her family is probably loaded. I haven't seen or played Persona Arena or Arena Ultimax and haven't finished PQ, but I'm going to generate a bunch of prompts anyway. Naoto and Mitsuru going on a caper together. The Kirijo group hires Naoto to locate where the Velvet Room is behind the clock. Naoto finds a hellmouth in Iwatodai. Anything is possible when your grandfather was a mad scientist and the apocalypse has come ten times in the last five years.

Fate/stay night & Related Fandoms - Arturia Pendragon/Tohsaka Rin | Saber/Tohsaka Rin, Hisau Maiya/Arturia Pendragon | Hisau Maiya/Saber, Irisviel von Einzbern/Arturia Pendragon | Irisviel von Einzbern/Saber
If you're not familiar with the canon: ufotable's adaptation of Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works and Fate/Zero are on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Both series are 26 episodes long. Fan translations of the visual novels are also available, but having played through the visual novels as an adventurous teenager, let me tell you, wow! It was not worth it.

I've always wanted to see Rin riding Saber's shoulders and shooting things with Gandr while commanding Saber to jump over bushes.

... that aside, Maiya/Saber has a lot of interesting parallels: they're both assisting Kiritsugu, but where Maiya has complete devotion and trust, Saber's comes with a lot more reservations. And Saber's dynamic with Irisviel in F/Z was also really cute... too bad they couldn't... you know. Run away. Blow things up together. Destroy a shit ton of castles.

Avatar: Legend of Korra - Korra/Asami Sato, Kuvira/Zhu Li Moon (LoK), Korra/Kuvira (LoK), Lin Beifong/Izumi (LoK)
If you're not familiar with the canon: seasons 1 and 2 are streaming on Amazon Prime and I believe Nick.com streams select episodes as well. That should introduce you to all of the characters listed above except Kuvira, who makes her first appearance in season 3 and plays the part of season 4's major antagonist. 52 episodes total.

Okay, I'm going to be frank here, this is my Super Shallow request slot. "That'd be hot," I thought, and put it down. But for a random list of prompts: Korra and Asami hang gliding... with rockets. Kuvira testing Zhu Li's trustworthiness after Zhu Li kicks Varrick off the train... sexily, with electricity and stuff. In an AU, Korra gets Kuvira to chat diplomacy but Kuvira won't agree to anything unless Korra can defeat her in a drinking contest... and then their clothes disappear. Lin and Izumi go strolling through the city and cause a major diplomatic incident when Lin accidentally trips Izumi into a puddle and the only thing that will calm the press is kissing... and dinner.

Good luck and fond wishes, and I look forward to seeing what you'll produce!
